Sluiters go Out West

For our 2007 Sluiter Summer Vacation, Cort and I traveled out west to Montana. I had the privilege of being the Matron of Honor for one of my very best friends in her wedding. The wedding was BEAUTIFUL! It took place in Red Lodge, Montana.
We turned the whole trip into a vacation. We took off from Zeeland on Tuesday, June 26. We drove to Minneapolis, Minnesota for the night. Wednesday we drove to Bismark, North Dakota (most boring drive of my LIFE!). Thursday we drove into Red Lodge, Montana (stopping in New Salem, ND to see "Sue" the largest statue of a Holstein Cow in the WORLD), and that is where we stayed until Sunday for all the fun wedding activities. The wedding was great! I made a bunch of new friends in the process - GO TEAM BRIDESMAID! (kisses to Renee!)
Sunday we left Montana. We drove through Wyoming and saw Devils Tower on our way to Rapid City, South Dakota. Monday we spent the day in Custer State Park seeing Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse and all the wildlife and mountains and trees in between. Tuesday we took off for the rest of South Dakota and visited Wall Drug, The Badlands, and the Mitchell Corn Palace (totally over-rated - how could you send us there, Mat?!?!) and we ended the day in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After such a big day of driving we did absolutely nothing on Wednesday but lay around the hotel room. Thursday we drove back home. Louis missed us :)
