This past weekend (Aug 4-5) was the second annual "girls weekend" for my WMU pals (pictured right: me, Tara, Erin, Kristin, Whitney, and Kim). Last year we went outlet shopping in Michigan City, but this year due to to the influx of newborns, we opted for something a little less expensive. The girls came out to my place!
We spent the afternoon at the beach (my specialty this summer), and the evening at my house with some of the husbands and all of the kids. I must say, my cozy house felt downright small with 10 adults and 7 kids! And two of the adults were missing, and there is one more kid on the way! Good thing we have a few years before Christmas is at our house again! Anyway, we had lots of fun, and it was good to see everyone again! Hopefully a summer get-together stays in the plans - seeing each other once at Christmas just isn't enough! Perhaps after we are all done having kids, we can splurge for something a little more exciting: like a long weekend to Vegas or NYC. Who knows! For now, it's good to enjoy life one day at a time!

NYC over Vegas? Really Doobs??? It's been a LONG time since I've been to NYC (think childhood), but I think Vegas sounds like more fun - no real reason :)

My mom went to NYC with girlfriends when I was a kid and the pictures look like they had lots of fun. They splurged and stayed right downtown. That is just why I thought of it. Plus we had fun there when we visited Missy!
