A Week of Birthdays

This week we celebrated THREE birthdays! One was a four-legged friend, one was a father, and one was a godson! All different ways to celebrate; all very special "people" in our lives!

On Monday, Louis, my cat since he was born, turned 15! Many people feel that this is old for a cat, but the vet keeps saying he is in great health...that of a 7 year old for instance :) He should live to a ripe old age of 20 or beyond!

We didn't do a WHOLE lot to celebrate this birthday...I mean, I realize he is a cat. We did give him a treat and some extra lap time.

Monday was also my parents 36th wedding anniversary. Mom went to work and dad was gone turkey hunting. very romantic.

Thursday was my dad's 59th birthday. Me, Cort, (and Eddie, of course), Chris, Jack, Mike, and Ashley all bought him a new gas grill. He has never owned an actual NEW gas grill before...the two he has owned previously were both VERY worn out hand-me-downs. In fact, the one he WAS using, was one we gave him...that we had gotten used from Cort's dad and Lynne...that the handle broke off from the day we gave it to him. He never replaced it; instead he just used an old oven mit to open and shut it. Very classy, I know. So we felt it was time to upgrade to something brand new. I think my mom was almost as excited as dad was!

We (everyone except Jack) also went out to OBI for dinner per my dad's request. It was really great food and great fun...as is usual when the Riemersmas get together. I think he enjoyed his birthday celebration.

Today we drove out to Alto for Joe's first birthday. Joe is our godson, so of course we were not going to miss this special day! He had a BIG day of gift opening and cake eating...I tried to help, but he did pretty well on his own.

I wish I could say this coming week will be a little slower, but it's Tulip Time, so you know we will be running to Holland a few times!
