Valentine's Day with my Valentines

Typically Valentine's Day is just not a big deal in Sluiter Nation. Cort and I might get each other a card, but that is about it. We have never been big on the calendar telling us when we are supposed to be romance pants about things. This year we both sort of approached Valentine's day the same way...but Valentine's Day approached us MUCH differently.

First of all, we got a barage of Valentine's sent to the house...mostly for Eddie from his friends and from his Grandma's and Great Grandma's.
Last year, we went out with the Visels to Russ' on Valentine's Day. This year, we went out with the Harbottles and our friend (Tonya's sister), Tammi, to Russ'. Just like last year, Cortney sprung for an entire Snicker's ice cream pie to go. YUM!
After pie we got a chance to hang out with our super great friends. The ladies fought over Eddie...
And Eddie bonded with Jeremy. He even took his first little efforts at crawling to Jeremy!
This morning, around 1:00 A.M., my wee Valentine woke us up with cries of fear from bad dreams (or at least that is what we can best guess). I spent the first hour or so of Valentine's Day cuddling the fear out of my little buddy on the couch before I could go back to bed.

Later in the morning, Eddie made up for it by coming in and waking me up with Cort and Louis bearing gifts! Cort got me a Pot o Gold and I got him peanut butter cups.
And I got my little Valentine a new bib. He really IS a great catch. Don't you think?
As usual, Cortney went out and got us our Sunday morning Starbucks. Mmmmm!
Then he made his special lady (that would be me), her favorite breakfast: Eggs in a nest. Now, I realize it looks like a cardiac arrest on a plate. This would be why I can't remember the last time I had it. We try not to eat like this too often, but for Valentine's Day, it is acceptable!
I made Valentine's Day Love Brownies. We each had one with our name on it. I shared one teeny tiny bite of mine with Eddie...turns out he likes chocolate. What a surprise...oh wait.
Who knew Valentine's Day could be so fun and great? Cort and I have always just shrugged it off as a Halmark holiday, but today we realized it's so much more fun to celebrate love when you have a little one to love.
