While any old sun block usually does the trick on my body, it’s SO hard for me to find something for my face. As a teenager, I had AWFUL skin. It’s still super combination-y. After a good washing it is usually totally dried out, but after wearing any sort of moisturizer and then make-up? It’s an oily mess. So I was a little hesitant to try Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Liquid Daily sunblock.
The first day, I took a shower and then applied the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid daily sunblock to my face. Only a tiny amount is needed to cover my whole face. This is a bonus because I don’t like feeling as if my face sun block gets used up in a week. It’s also not thick like a typical SPF. It’s just like a light-weight facial moisturizer. At this point my skepticism was fading a bit, but I figured by mid-day I would still have my typical oil slick on face.
I should not here that I didn’t wear make-up this day because let’s face it, unless we momma’s have somewhere to go, the make-up stays in the drawer. I did however sit outside with my book during Eddie’s nap for about just over an hour. Yes, I would be jealous of me too, don’t worry.
Anyway, like the winner that I am, I didn’t think about putting sunblock anywhere else on my body. When I came in after an hour, my legs were a little crispy, but my face was not, which is awesome. But the really great part was, even though I had been sitting outside, my face was not greasy OR oily. Definitely a first for me!
Being the realist (read: pessimist) that I am, I figured it was just because I wasn’t wearing make-up. The next day, I applied the same amount of the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid daily sunblock, and then also applied my make-up (which is just usually a powder foundation, some eyeliner, and some gloss). I did my errands for the morning and took a walk/jog around the neighborhood later in the day.
To my HUGE surprise, my face was NOT oily. Not even with the make-up and the sweat from the jog!
So far, only three days in to this trial, I am pretty impressed with this product, and I intend to keep on using it. We will see how it holds up to the beach days we have planned in the upcoming weeks!
