A Couple Days of Relaxation...Sort of...

Life in Sluiter Nation has been anything...ANYTHING but relaxing since, well, June 23, 2009, but even less so since Christmas break. We rarely see friends and family at all anymore.

I am teaching five different subjects between two different schools (4 subjects at Park and then a writing class at GRCC), and I feel like I am never home anymore. All the while Cort cleans, runs errands, parents the wee one, searches for jobs, does homework, cooks delicious meals, scrubs the tub cleaner than I ever thought possible, and keeps Sluiter Nation running smoothly. All of this madness had us running on almost empty, which prompted Cortney to run the idea of a "date day" by me.

This weekend we did it! While Eddie went to Amy Jo's, Cort and I got pedicures! He was a little wary of getting one, but once that nail tech started rubbing his feet, I knew I had him sold on them. Check out how nice our tootsies look! Don't worry, Cort didn't get polish!

Today I had a girls day with my WMU buddies. Three of us live here in West Michigan, while the other three live around the Detroit area. We all met in Lansing for lunch at PF Chang's and manicures at a little place in the same shopping center. It was just what I needed to complete my relaxation treatment!

While I was gone, however, Cortney's relaxation was apparently over. These innocent looking buns turned evil not long after this picture was taken. Don't worry, I didn't post the "after" shot that Cortney DID take. So yes, there is a picture of poo out there, but I am not sharing. You're welcome.
So while we are busy here in Sluiter Nation, we are still finding time to treat ourselves to the little things that keep us happy and relaxed and ready for another week of madness!

is it wrong that for a second I was not sure whose little booty pic that was?! then the diaper gave it away...perhaps it is lack of sleep, or knowing that lil eddie and I may have more things in common than I thought...I HOPE that is the picture of the day.
